Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Eden Technologies Ltd ("we", "us", "Accenda") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use accenda.io. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with UK GDPR and the UK Children's Code.

Data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate Accenda:

  • Email address — to create and manage your account
  • Date of birth — to personalise your learning experience and determine appropriate content
  • Subject interests — selected during onboarding to recommend relevant paths
  • Learning activity — paths enrolled, nodes completed, quiz attempts, XP earned, streaks
  • Billing information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never store card details
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and usage data collected automatically for security and performance

How we use your data

We use your data solely to:

  • Operate and personalise your Accenda experience
  • Process payments via Stripe
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts)
  • Improve the platform

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing. We do not profile users for commercial purposes.

AI and your data

When you generate a learning path, the description you enter is sent to Anthropic and OpenAI to generate content. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not send any personally identifiable information to AI providers — only the topic description you enter.

Data storage and retention

Your data is stored securely using Supabase. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@edentechnologies.co.uk or through your account settings.

Children's privacy

Accenda is designed to be used by learners of all ages including children. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).

  • We collect only the minimum data necessary
  • We do not use children's data for marketing or profiling
  • We do not share children's data with third parties except as necessary to operate the service
  • Privacy settings are set to high by default for all users
  • We do not use geolocation
  • We do not serve advertising

Users under 13 must have parental or guardian consent to use Accenda. Users aged 13-17 may use Accenda freely. Paid subscriptions for users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact hello@edentechnologies.co.uk and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk
